What Do Red Rashes In The Pubic Area Indicate?

Hello, I m a 22 year old male and am getting concerned about these red splotches that have been showing up in the past 4 to 5 months. I have noticed these red rash like marks showing up around my pubic area. They aren t painful, nothing raised, no pussing or anything like that. Nothing is out of the normal with my penis itself. It basically covers the whole pubic hair area and started as smaller marks. Now the marks are getting bigger and growing into each other. It is even spreading, there are 3 marks up above my belly button. and even one on my chest near my neck. If someone could give me some insight it would be greatly appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to contact dermatitis.

I suggest using antihistamines such as Cetirizine.

I also suggest using Hydrocortisone cream for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
