Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Recurring Sharp Pain In Right Side Of Abdomen Suggest?
Hi, I have been infrequently having sharp pains far over in my right side, more where my oblique muscles are but deep inside. Pain lasts around 10-15mins. Very uncomfortable but not unbearable. Been happening for the last 4-5days. Seems to be completely random once or twice a day.
The most common causes of such pain is a stone in ureter, it causes such classical pain as you have mentioned although you have not mentioned anything related to the urinary tract system. I would advise you the following: - Simple tests of urine and blood can help - Ultrasound of abdomen and X-ray of abdomen will surely help assisted by CT scan for confirmation of any positive finding
Once a proper diagnosis is done then the treatment will be as per the size and site of stone and any associated problems. Other causes can be related to colon and so on and will be diagnosed as needed and treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
