What Do Rashes On The Body Indicate?

I am 52 years old. Yeasterday and today, I broke out in hives. I have never had hives in my life. Absolutely nothing has changed. No allergies. No new soap, detergent, food, nothing different. I’m breaking out on my entire torso and the palms of my hands and feet itch like crazy. I’m not stressed at all. It’s happening between noon and 6 pm. They are welts and large. Help!

Hello,

It is definitely, an allergic reaction to any confounding agent. From history, we are not able to figure out any allergic history but still, we can treat you with antihistaminics and you can get immediate relief from it. Cetrizine, Levocetirizine, etcetera all these drugs minimize the body response to the allergen. If it's still not decreasing with that then we can start antibiotic prophylaxis. If it is an infectious and with 5-7 days you will be cured of the infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
