What Do Papilloma Cells In The Breast Indicate?

My family member had HPV several yrs ago. She had a biopsy on her milk duct Ltd. Breast this past week and papilloma cells were found. She will have surgery this week to get a larger sample to check for cancer. No cancer was detected in needle biopsy. Does the HpV relate to cells in breast? Thank you

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, HPV (human papilloma virus) can cause breast cancer.
HPV commonly affects vulva, vagina and uterus. But certain strains of HPV can also affect breast tissue.
So get done excision biopsy (larger sample) to confirm about malignancy.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your family member.Thanks.
