General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You didn't mention how severe was your mitral regurgitation. However when your heart flutter I would advise getting a checkup done it's needed for your mitral regurgitation as well to see the progress but more importantly here we would like to rule out atrial fibrillation, (doing an ECG or holter), which is a complication of mitral regurgitation and can cause fluttering of the heart. So I would say yes you should have a checkup now.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman
