What Do Painful Cysts On The Arches Of The Feet Indicate?

Hello, I am a fifty year old woman in general good health. However, approximately 3mo ago a cyst developed in both of my foot arches. At first they were not painful. But lately they hurt at night. Ranging from a dull ache to sharp stabbing pains. Should this be check by a podiatrist?
