What Do Pain And Tingling Sensation On The Skin Indicate?

I am a 24 yr old female and sometimes I get these weird sensations on my skin. I will touch the skin on my upper lip and it feels like a pin pricked me. It hurts. It feels like something bit me every time I touch this area. And then later it s fine. I m sure this sounds weird but I don t understand why this happens. Any answer would be appreciated.
