What do pain and swelling in the feet indicate?

During a quick trip to the grocery today I noticed atwinge in my foot, pain set in within half hour, now aboit 4 hrs later, I can barely walk on that foot. Barely noticable swelling and very mild redness but pain up to my knee. Its snowing and dont want to go to ER...safe to wait it out over night?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your description, it can be a minor stroke or something called TIA(transient Ischemic attack).
It is better to consult a doctor and get a CT scan of your head done.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
