What Do Pain And Stiffness In The Right Knee Indicate?

I have pain and stiffness in my right knee. I use my right foot on a foot pedal at work and drive an hour each way. It has happened before but gone away. This time is has lasted longer, several weeks, though it is now improving. It feels like I can t bend my knee completely, as it feels tight in back. It feels like my hamstring is tight and if I massage it upon standing the pain goes away and the knee feels basically normal. It returns when I sit down again intermittently. I have been told it may be a Baker s Cyst by a friend. Any thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have to do a clinical assessment and a few laboratories work in the nearest medical center, including an X-ray, complete blood count and rheumatoid factor to exclude arthritis. At the moment, you can apply cold compressors, take over-the-counter analgesics and apply topical anti-inflammatory drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
