What Do My BP Readings Indicate?

Hi, Is it normal to have 108/67 blood pressure with a pulse of 59bpm while resting on the couch? I currently do not exercise and I am out of shape, 39 year old male 240lbs 6 3 with a belly. Normally my BP and pulse aren t this low. Also my feet and ankles are slightly swollen. Thank you, Sam

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,

I think it’s okay. Hypotension if it occurs, occurs only in shocks like conditions or major blood loss which isn’t the case here.

The blood pressure and heart rate are almost normal and many people with athletic build can have so. Don’t worry at all.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Harshita, Ophthalmologist
