What Do Muscular Pain And Hard Lump In Lower Abdomen Post Hernia Repair Suggest?

I have pain in my muscle area of my lower abdominal area when I zip my pants up. I had a hernia repaired in 1992. The Dr. placed some sort of mesh when he did the surgery. I also have a very hard lump in that area that is painful when pressure is applied.

Hello,

The hernia repaired surgery was long time ago. The presence of hard and painful lump in that area is a signal that hernia is back again, and needs another repair. Please consult with surgeon as soon as possible and you might need another hernia repair at this moment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
