What Do Itchy Blisters From The Hips To The Underarm Indicate?
Hi, my daughter (27) has a straight line of spots with small blister heads on from hip to under arm. Yesterday they itched, today the itching has gone and she has a pulled muscle pain instead. She had mild chicken pox as a child and hasn t had shingles. The doctor said not sure if chicken pox or shingles or anything else. Told to take paracetomol and rub calamine lotion on Any other thoughts please. Thank you.
The vesicular and bullous lesions in linear fashion from hip to axilla does not suggest the diagnosis of herpes zoster (shingles). Most probably it may be either insect bite dermatitis or poison ivy dermatitis. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.
Antihistamines like Levocetirizine daily and antibiotic cream application may be recommended. You may take steroids in tapering dose after consulting your doctor to enhance the response.
