What Do High Prolactin Levels And HCG Level Of 1.2 Suggest?

my hcg level is 1.2 and my prolactin levels are high. I have breast secretions. Am I pregnant and is there a problem? I also have had my period the last seven days. The end of may only very light spotting. BEFORE THAT MY LAST PERIOD WAS aPRIL 20TH. I ALSO HAD MY TUBES TIED IN 2008. AND AM 48 YEARS OLD.

Hi,

Elevated prolactin levels evident in your blood test is probably the cause of altered menstruation and breast secretions. The root cause of elevated prolactin level such as prolactinomas (tumor of the pituitary gland) should be identified and treated. Bromocriptine should be started in order to reduce the prolactin levels. CT or MRI brain should be done to rule out any tumors.
