General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi Caroline,
Yasminelle contains Ethinyl estradiol and Drospirenone, which is a combined oral contraceptive pill.
Common side effects experienced with the use of this drug are: mood swings, headache, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, acne, breast enlargement and tenderness, painful or irregular periods and weight gain.
Some of the side effects mentioned have been experienced by you.
Generally, such side effects should subside on its own or with symptomatic treatment.
In case it doesn't and becomes severe, you need to seek medical assistance immediately.
Hope the information provided would be useful.
All the best.
