What Causes Back Pain While On Birth Control Pills?

Hi, how are you? I need advice please. I took the morning after pill 2 weeks ago, then I got my period twice. I then took it a week ago as well. I ve started to get my period again, and I ve been having painful back pains. I ve tried taking pain medication, but nothing seems to work. Should I be worried?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
It appears that you could be getting back pain due to weakness caused by calcium and iron deficiency, due to excess loss of the minerals repeatedly by menstrual periods.
Kindly take iron and calcium supplementation in the form of syrup/tablets regularly along with intake of analgesics. Also consume diet rich in iron and calcium.
You can also apply topical analgesic gel on the affected area.
Gradually, your symptoms should subside and get better.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
