What Do Flatulence And Severe Flank Pain Indicate?
My question is also related to farting. Lately, maybe the last six weeks I have uncontrollable farting without smell but very loud. Maybe several hundred a day with tremendous pain in my right flank sometimes accompanied by a large tender lump in my right flank that can last for days. I can even skip eating for several days and the farting keeps on going. I m going to the bathroom a lot, multiple times a day. My doctor in the past told me it was nothing, but I can t help but think it s something and it s not good. I have trouble sleeping and I ve dropped about 15 pounds, but everyone says I look great. I m a 56 year old male.
The significant pain with swelling over flank can be related to intestinal issue in terms of recurrent bouts of diverticulitis or other inflammatory conditions as there is associated frequency of motions as well.
Rather than just taking conventional medicines, I recommend to discuss about the need of colonoscopy with your consultant.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
