What Do Congested And Inflammed Tubes Post Laproscopic Surgery Suggest?
I am 23 years old. I had Polycystic ovary syndrome and my fallopean tubes were blocked. I underwent Laproscopic surgery on 02 April, 2015. Doctor wrote in the report that Ovary is now normal, tubes are patent and tubes were congested and inflamed with healthy fimbria. What it means? After 30 days of last period, till now I dont have any period? Please suggest me. Thank you.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Congestion and inflammation of the fallopian tubes following laparoscopic surgery can suggest that there was some degree of infection or inflammation in the area before the surgery. The healthy fimbria indicates that the ends of the fallopian tubes that are responsible for capturing the eggs are healthy.
It is not uncommon for some women to experience delayed menstruation after laparoscopic surgery, especially if the surgery involved the reproductive organs. The exact reason for this delay can vary and may be related to the surgery itself, anesthesia, or stress.
However, as it has been more than 30 days since your last period, it would be a good idea to consult with your doctor to rule out any potential complications or underlying conditions that may be causing the delay. Your doctor can perform a physical examination, order additional tests, and provide you with further guidance on any necessary next steps.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
