Hi,
Usually urinary tract infections are associated with urge and burning sensation. Since your husband has diabetes, it is a factor that increases the likelihood of having an infection, because diabetes damages your immune system thus making it easier for bacteria to grow and infect any part of his body.
I would recommend an urinalysis, and Complete Blood Count to see if there is and infection, followed by an antibiogramme to determine to what antibiotic is the bacteria sensitive, thus starting a treatment.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Wish you good health.
