What Do Breathing Difficulty And Chest Pain Indicate?

I have had acute bronchitis for about three weeks now so I made a Dr appointment for Monday and while I was there she gave me a steroid shot in the hip and put me on antibiotics. The shot short hurt, even after it was over it felt bruised there. That day I started feeling weak and shaky and am also very pale with dark circles and I am having chest pains and just achyand its still hard to breath. When I go to lay down I can feel my heart pounding. This is the second day of this. Am I having an allergic reaction or is this normal?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Bronchitis takes a lot of time to recover and only steroid and antibiotics may not help much.
Since you are shaky, weak, dark circles around eyes and have chest pain also indicate that you need the following in such a situation:
Clinical evaluation by your Doctor and may be a referral to a Pulmonologist for second opinion.
Tests of blood for CBC, sugar and as needed.
C-ray of the chest as you have breathing difficulty and CT scan of the chest if needed.
Test of mucus/secretions helps in some cases.
Symptomatic treatment with Paracetamol, bronchodilators, stream inhalation and so on as would be needed.
Specific treatment is possible only after a proper clinical evaluation, correlation with investigations.
Till then avoid people with viral infection.
Avoid sudden temperature changes zone.
Take bed rest with no visitors.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
