What Could The Flaky, Purplish Red Bump On The Inner Thigh Be?

Hi. I'm 18 years old. I previously had a hard bump under the skin on my inner thigh. Now, a week or two later, it's now flaky, the inner part of the circle is purplish red, it has a ring around it that is purple, and a little area surrounding the bump/circle is dark. Could you tell me what this is? My thighs rubbing together were causing irritation. Is this connected?

Hi, after going through your query, it seems you had developed a boil or folliculitis which is now showing signs of healing in the form of purplish hue and pigmentation.

The area within the inner thighs is prone to infection because of moisture retention and thighs rubbing together as you have mentioned.

You may use an anti bacterial over the counter cream like mupirocin for 3-4 days

If it persists or aggravates you may have to contact a dermatologist for treatment.

Hope this solves your query.
