General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Most of the lumps or nodules behind the ears are always harmless. Many conditions might result in lumps, bumps, or nodules formation behind the ears such as
1. Infection
2. Mastoiditis
3. Abscess
4. Sebaceous cysts
5. Lipoma
6. Otitis media
7. Lymphadenopathy (secondary to ear or throat infections)
8. Acne vulgaris

I advise you to take a course of antibiotics, analgesics and hydrate yourself well. Take good rest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
