What Could Itchy And Sore Throat Post Tonsillectomy Suggest?

Hi I had an adult tonsillectomy about 2 and a half months ago the wounds are now fully healed bit I am still having major issues. My throat is still constantly sore, red, really itchy and I am constantly clearing my throat due to mucous.I am still very tired and sleeping all the time, nauseaous and feel generally terrible.I also have itchiness radiating to into my ears at times.Many thanks

HI.
This is basically a problem of chronic pharyngitis. The root cause may be in the sinuses or nose.
I would advise you to have a consultation and clinical examination done by an ENT Surgeon so that CT scan and other investigations can be ordered.
I hope you are not a diabetic since you are suffering for a more that usual time.
Take a course of antibiotic, antihistamine and ant-inflammatory medicines.
Avoid too hot and too cold beverages and foods .
IT is possible that you may be suffering from a GERD- reflux disease. You need an additional PPI and Domperidone and antacid gels. This may help you further .
The itchiness is radiated to the ears indicated that you have a real problem in the throat.
