What Could High PLT Count In A 3-year-old?

Hello, my 3-year-old had a CBC yesterday. Her PLT count was High at 660. Lym # 4.00 listed as high, Lym % 52.5 High. MPV was 5.9 Low and her GRA % was 40.2 L while the GRA # was 3.20 normal. My mother had AML as a child so I am very concerned about any abnormal results in my children. Do these numbers show concern for cancer? She is anotherwise healthy 3-year-old. 38 in tall and 32 lbs. Sickle cell trait is the only thing we have ever been told regarding her blood.

Hello,

In AML blast cells and immature WBC series cells are seen more in number like myelocytes, Metamyelocytes, etcetera. These premature cells and blast cells nor mentioned in history, so it doesn't seem to be AML.

Still, I want to see your peripheral smear examination report and CBC for giving exact comment, attach that report for that.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
