What Could Cause Tingling Sensation And Numbness In The Feet In A 77-year-old?
the big toes on each foot is tingling and semi numb also turning in and the insides of my foot feels stretched. ive had blood tests for other things and did not show diabetes. would fhysical therpy help. Ive had no injuries to my foot other than plantar fascitis from running and walking Im 77 yrs old, 40 lbs overweight.
It will help us more if you kindly answer some follow up questions.
1. Is the tingling sensation is stagnant at feet only?
2. or Does is travel from your waist down?
In general, it may be due to compression of nerve roots at the lumbar spine. You can get the following investigation done-
1. X-ray lumbar spine (AP LAT).
Based on your description, it appears that you could be having tingling and numbness symptoms caused due to vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
Kindly take medications containing Vitamins namely Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12 and Pantothenic acid. Along with it, intake of Calcium and magnesium mineral supplements would also help.
Reduction in weight through exercise and calf muscle stretching exercises regularly to improve blood supply to the feet would also be beneficial.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
