What Could Cause Squishy Bump Below Knee Cap?

found a soft lump like the size of half of a golf ball pretty much on the lower part of my knee cap. it didnt hurt i only noticed it because i saw a lump under my sweatpants last night. went to sleep and woke up to find it almost gone with just a slight bump that is still squishy

HI.
This is classical synovitis.
It is best to consult the Orthopedic surgeon.
If this is because of simple inflammation , will settle with antiinflammatory medicines for 7 to 10 days.
Try to give knee the rest.
IF the condition persists or recurs after 10 days , it is better to do MRI and may be FNAC or Biopsy to rule out any sinister problem
