What Could Cause Shortened Period Weeks After Interourse?

Hi! My husband and I were intimate on the 1st of the year at about 3am and he ejaculated in me. Later that evening around 6pm I started my period. I bled the next day and then the on 3rd and 4th I only spotted. My periods are usually 5-6 days like clock work. And usually when I stress my periods last longer instead of disappearing. My question is what could have shortened my period?

There are many possible reasons for a shorter cycle, but we are generally not concerned if it is a one time event. If your cycles return to normal, I wouldn't worry about it too much. However, if this persists, you should get checked for hormonal problems such as thyroid problems or other things that can cause changes in your cycles.
