What Could Cause Pain And Adhesions After Knee Replacement Surgery?

I seem to have developed adhesion in my knee after replacement surgery 6 weeks ago. I have been walking without any support for 4 weeks and now this! Very painful when my therapist massages the are around and below the incision. What is the prognosis?

Hi,

These kind of adhesions are very common in incisional scar but with exercises, they generally go away.

Physiotherapy for a range of movement is generally painful so do not worry on this account and continue with physiotherapy. The prognosis is generally good.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Gopal Goel, Orthopaedic Surgeon
