What Could Cause Fluid Filled Blisters Near The Incision After A Cervical ACDF?

Hello, I recently had a cervical acdf. My incision healed nicely and has been completely closed for a couple of weeks. Today I noticed a large bright red bump extending from the incision. The bump is soft and seems to full of fluid. Any ideas? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The presence of the blister near the incision can be related to an infection of the incision. I suggest to clean the area with hydrogen peroxide and cover it with an antibiotics cream such as Neosporin cream. If you notice yellow discharge, you should consult your surgeon for further evaluation.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Regards,
