What Could Cause Chest Infection With Cough & Phlegm In Elderly Males?

Age 46, 5"10, 13st male, non smoker, v fit swimmer and karate. ongoing deep chest infection, severe cough and green phlegm nearly 18 months. on 3rd course of really strong antibiotics. never sees to clear fully! chest xray and bloodtests ruled out tb or CRP.

I am so sorry to hear about this chronic cough. Have you had a sputum culture? Also, have you been evaluated for a possible chronic bronchitis? Though not common in non smokers, this is possible. Tuberculosis would cause other symptoms like fever, weight loss, anorexia, etc. If the solution is not forthcoming, I will suggest you get evaluated by a pulmonologist!
