There are 3 possible reasons why a child this age would keep touching her ear. the first is infection. Next, teething pain can often cause ear discomfort and the babies go to their ear. Third, she is just discovering another one of her body parts and it soothes her to touch it. Of course, the cause we are most concerned about is infection. There is no way to know if the ear is infected without an exam by your doctor. I recommend consulting with your doctor so the correct diagnosis can be made and the appropriate treatment plan implemented.
