What Could Bowel Movement With Bloody Stools Suggest?

I just went to the toilet for a bowel movement and it felt different to normal and I looked into the bowl after I had finished to find a lot of blood all in my faeces and all in the surrounding toilet paper. When I wiped there was only a very small amount of blood so it much have all been internal.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Stool consistency, colour and appearance depends upon the food taken, if you do not have any history of symptoms of fissure, hemorrhoid, rectum lesion, intestine pathologies, blood disorders then it is nothing to worry, if you really want to clear the doubt then first thing you need to do is to send the stool for testing.

Rule out the hemorrhoid or fissures you have to go for clinical examination, you have not provided the basic information of age and gender because this matters in such symptoms.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
