What Could A Red, Round Growth Under The Chin Indicate?

I woke up about 4 or 5 days ago and found a round growth under my chin. It is under the skin a and has the diameter of about a half dollar. It feels round and is large enough to be visible when looking in the mirror. I see head, infected area or bite mark. The skin is a bit red in that area. It literally came up over night but has not shrunk since then. Any thoughts?

Hello dear,

I have gone through your question and I feel it can be a infected sebaceous cyst more likely than simple boil

sebaceous cyst is a small swelling that occurs because of obstruction of the duct of the sebaceous gland that leads to accumulation of sebaceous material in it and a small growth, it has punctum (opening) that looks like black opening as in your case you feel like bite mark, and redness may be because of infection in the cyst,

Simple boil is similar to that but it's usually red and very painful .

Do get prescribed good antibiotic and if it's sebaceous cyst than will have to get it excised by surgeon or dermatologist

thank you
