What Causes Yellow Sputum And Wheezing Along With Discomfort In The Chest?

I have had some sort of upper respiratory thing going on since Friday, initially was treated for influenza, test came back negative, monday switched tx to Zpack, inhaler. Have thick yellow sputum difficult to expectorate but CXR was clear. Some yellow sinus drainage. Last night and now tonight, have clear frothy sputum mixed with yellow, wheezing in my upper anterior chest and my throat, upon expiration. Worse when I lay down. sitting up, ...is there anything else I should be concerned about, no fever at this point, taking mucinex too drinking lots of hot tea...feels weird and sounds weird in my throat ...have a pulse oximeter at home 02 sat 98%, bp good, HR up a hair from the inhaler..122, feels like sputum getting stuck in my throat then I am able to expectorate thick yellow small amounts then clear bubbly. JUst feels strange

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to lower respiratory infection. Intravenous antibiotics will be needed in such case. A consultation with physician is well appreciated.
Thanks
