What Causes Yellow Discharge, Bacterial Vaginosis And Twinging Feeling Around Abdomen?

Hello, I am 8 days past ovulation, and expecting to receive my period on saturday / sunday based on the normal length of my LP cycle for the past few cycles. Usually before my period arrives, I notice that I have a lot of discharge but yesterday it was yellow and today it was a bit gray. I am worried that I have an infection (as I have had vaginosis diagnosed in the past year, and had antibiotical pills and gel prescribed by the doctor to me) and it may affect my chances to conceive. There isn t the usual odour though. Also since ovulation I have been experiencing twinges on both sides of my abdomen until day 7. Do you think I have anything to be concerned about as we are trying to conceive. thank you very much!

Hello,

The yellow discharge and twinging feeling around abdomen may be part of some sort of bacterial or fungal infection most likely. Bacterial vaginosis is caused by Gardenella vaginalis, commensal bacterial pathogen harboring in the vaginal epithelium. As you are trying to conceive, it is best recommended that prefer topical antibiotics as Mupurocin or others. Many of the antibiotics are of pregnancy category B or C and hence can not be consumed via off the counter method without discussing with your doctor.
