What Causes Whooshing Sound In Ear?

For the past week I have had a whooshing sound in my left ear when I turn my head to the right. It s worse in the morning when I get up. The past couple days I have also had dizziness with it. I recently had a cold and still have a lingering cough. I was wondering if it would help if I used my neti pot.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Welcome to HCM,

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

As per your details, most likely cause - Eustachian tube (tube connecting middle ear and nose) dysfunction - usually occurs due to allergy, cold, flu or sinusitis.

I suggest you to see an ent surgeon, for proper evaluation and treatment.

Mean time, you can do valsalva manoeuvre (watch you tube video), chew gums (chewing helps in opening the tube).

Hope, I have answered your query.

Wishing you good health.
