What Causes Weird Sounds In The Throat While Sleeping?

I am a 55 year old male and I have a lingering wheezing, rattling sounds coming from my throat or chest. The emit themselves when I exhale or inhale. I can t sleep on my side because the sounds coming from my throat wake me up. I do have a cough sometimes throughout the day. What can I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

Wheezing sound is because of bronchoconstriction...

Here allergic bronchitis or asthma like condition has to be ruled out...

Your work up done as follow...
-Auscultation
-Chest x ray
-Spirometry if needed
-CBC with differential count etc...

According to cause specific treatment given

If eosinophila present and allergic bronchitis is the cause than fexofenedine prescribed

If high count and neutrophilia present than antibiotic needed

Take care

Consult pulmonologoist for examination with keeping all this in mind
