What Causes Weakness In The Right Arm Followed By Dizziness And Nausea?

For the last two months I have experienced sudden weakness in my right arm followed by dizziness and nausea and I usually have a headache. The frequency has increased in the last two weeks and so has the duration. It happens at least once a day, usually in the afternoon or evening. Now, today, during one of these episodes, I felt faint when I stood up. It started two hours ago. I took something for the nausea but I am still experiencing a weakness in the right arm and headache. I have been diagnosed with acute narrow angle glaucoma and am scheduled for surgery in eight days. My eye surgeon does not feel it is related to the glaucoma. What should I do? What is wrong?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a neurologist and get evaluated. We have to get an MRI scan to rule out possible neurological causes like CVA ( stroke).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
