What Causes Weakness In Legs After Having Lumbar Epidural Injection?
I had my 3rd lumbar epidural injection about 3 weeks ago. Shortly after I received it I started have weakness in my legs to the point that I can hardly go up stairs. It s like I don t have the strenght in my legs to push my body up the steps. 3 weeks later I am still having the issue. Is this something that I should be worried about? Should I contact my doctor?

If epidural ijection has enhanced leg muscles weakness you must immediately contact the doctor, sometimes the needle goes a bit deeper in the thecal sac and may produce such symptoms, or a fresh MRI shall reveal the extent of other nerves in lower spine being freshly affected due to progression of disease process, both should be ruled out. Do lots of physical therapy of legs to build tone and strenght and take neurobion forte tabs.Sometimes recovery after injection may take 6 weeks, so wait and watch
