Hello,

Your symptoms may be indicative of cauda equina syndrome. Thus causing weakness, pain, incontinence due to compressed cauda equina nerves. You can move and feel sensations in your legs and urinary bladder due to cauda equina nerves but compression of the same causes incontinence and weakness in the legs.

The other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are weakened bladder muscles, which can result from aging, physical damage to your pelvic floor muscles, or having an enlarged prostate(in men), urinary tract and bladder infections. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP / Urologist, get required tests and investigations done to diagnose the type of incontinence.

There are different types of incontinence like stress incontinence, urge incontinence or overflow incontinence, it will be treated accordingly. Maintain your healthy weight, limit caffeine and alcohol consumption and avoid smoking, drugs or alcohol, etc. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
