What Causes Waking Up And Crying Of A Baby Suddenly At Night?

A five month baby, suddenly wake up and start crying while the sleeping (like he have some fear), then continuously crying in the early to bed time past few days. Once sleep then he wake up for feeding that time there is no problem. In the day time there is No problem for sleeping. Why its like that only in the before sleeping time in the night, especially past few days only?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

They might be crying because of physical discomfort (temperature of the room may be too cold or too hot), they are wet in nappy, they are not well fed or they might be having fever, nasal blockade, teething issues or an abdominal colic.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ajeet Singh, General & Family Physician
