What Causes Vomiting Sensation And Diarrhea While On Dayquil?

So i have been saying i can t take dayquil bc it makes me throw up. Well i have a cold and my boyfriend thinks its all in my head and got me dayquil. I was thinking maybe it is all in my head since i havnt took dayquil since i was a sophomore in high school and im 25 now. Well i been taking nyquil last few nights and been fine. My boyfriend get me dayquil today. Not even a hr later i was feeling sick. Then 30 mins later i was throwing up. I threw up 6x in an hr and half and been having diarrhea. Why can i take nyquil but from the sound of it i mighr be allergic to dayquil. I cant really take anything with a decongestant because i throw up.

Hello,

From what you are referring, I think the diarrhea and vomiting is not caused by dayquil use. It is related to virus you are experiencing first with cold sympmtoms and now with gastrointestinal (GI) signs.

I think you should go to ER if vomiting won't stop for the next couple of hours as we should prevent dehydration and other possible complications. Pneumonia is also a possibility to happen after cold coughing lasting for few days now.
You need intravenous (iv) fluid replacement therapy until vomiting is totally stopped.

Tasectan or pepto bismol can help stop diarrhea. Probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora. Oral rehydration salts to replace the lost fluids.
