What Causes Vomiting Of Blood With Milk In An Infant?

my daughter is one month old. On 5th day of her birth she has a problem of vomiting milk with little blood stains. consulted a doctor and he told it is due the deficiency of vitamin k bleeding. he admitted 1 dose of vitamin k and then administered 60 ml blood also. after 3 days she was recovered and discharged from the hospital. Then now after 25 days the problem started. Now she got admitted in another hospital and the doctor told there is a small blockage in the food passage tube. He has given couple of tablets - Moza and Junior Lanzol 15. Please give your valuable opinion on this.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi,

If there is blood in the vomiting then we need to consider the late-onset hemorrhagic disease of the newborn.

But if there is no blood in the vomiting then we need to consider hypertrophic obstructive pyloric stenosis, please.

May I suggest you discuss this possibility with the physician is there and get her appropriately treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
