What Causes Vomiting And Sickness After Painting During Pregnant?

Hi I m 15 weeks pregnant and painted the nursery using a sprayer. I did not wear a mask and now am very sick with respiratory problems and vomiting. I had terrible asthma as a child and with this pregnancy it has gotten bad again but it s at it worst now. I cough to the point of vomiting. Is it from the paint or is it just my Normal asthma?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I appreciate your concern for the vomiting and sickness while painting.

It seems to me you had an accidental exposure to paint spray which appears to contain the toxic metal lead resulting in the sickness.

First of all stop painting and immediately visit the nearest hospital for immediate care.

You may be given the first aid, IV fluids and probably a chelating agent to prevent the toxic effects of lead that you have consumed in larger amount while painting.

Hope this could answer your query.

Wishing you best of your health.
