What Causes Vomiting Along With Fatigue And Insomnia?

My sister has been suffering this week with vomitting and is quite exhausted. She has been suffering from insomnia for many years ( she has been a nurse for 30 years and spent much time in the far north where there isn t any night for 6 months, shifts throughout the night etc). She is never fearful, but cannot hide her worry that something is wrong. She just told me that I have never been this sick before. She has a history of heart palpitations and I am deeply concerned that she may be suffering pre-heart attack symptoms. Sorry...my email address is YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

These symptoms might be related to acute gastritis, but also to a heart issue.

I suggest her to go to the Emergency Room for a physical examination, perform an ECG, and other blood analysis because is very important to exclude heart attack.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Suela Gjata, General & Family Physician
