What Causes Vertigo While On Lisinopril And Atorvastatin?

My wife is having increasingly severe vertigo-began 24hrs ago. She can t lower her head to her chest and raise it to center without the room spinning . Cannot lie on her right side w/o vertigo, fairly severe. Cannot lie on her back without severe vertigo. CAN lie on her left side w/o vertigo. Mild nasal stuffiness, not severe. Taking BP meds-Lisinopril, 2.5mg, Triamterene/Hctz, 37.5/25, Atorvastatin, 10mg. All once a day, morning. Mild nausea, better when she stays still. Has gotten worse in the last 4-5 hrs. Help?!?! PS--has a family history of Ménière s disease. Also, family history of heart disease, and high BP. Hers is borderline high, and responds well to weight loss and exercise.

Hello,

Vertigo can be related to high blood pressure.
Another possible reason is Ménière s disease.
I suggest you to measure regularly the blood pressure. If it is maintained under control through medication you should consult an ENT specialist for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
