Exactly one year ago, I had a severe episode of vertigo, which included vomiting. I had never had vertigo previously. I rested for 24 hours to see if it would go away, and when it did not, I went to the local urgent care clinic (as it was a Saturday), and they gave me medicine for the nausea, which I only needed to take for about 1/2 day more. I was much better on Sunday and Monday (Monday was the MLK holiday), and went to an ENT. At that time I did not present with any symptoms, so she recommended I see a neurologist just to rule out anything there. I had an MRI of my brain, which was normal. I have felt fine all year (no more vertigo episodes), until about 6 weeks ago, when I have started feeling minor vertigo when I lay down and then little vertigo "blips" all through the day when I am sitting down reading or working at the computer. In addition, about 4 months ago, I started getting periodic twitching below my left eye. I have also had ringing in my left ear for about 3 years, ever since I returned from a trip to LA. My left ear was clogged when I got off the plane, but cleared up in a day or so, but the ringing continued. I am tired of all of this, and am now concerned about these constant feelings of momentary vertigo all through the day - when I am sitting or laying down. I can work out at the gym, no problem. I am stumped. Do I have an inner ear infection? Should I go back to the ENT? Otherwise, I am a healthy person - I eat very healthy, exercise, take vitamins under the guidance of a naturopath and do not take any medications. I could do better about stress management, but with the ringing in the ears happening for three years now, I can't believe all of these symptoms are related to stress. I am also planning to hop on a plane next Friday for a 5 hour flight, so am concerned if the vertigo symptoms I am experiencing could be exacerbated by this. Thank you for any guidance you can provide.
