What Causes Vertigo After Withdrawing Losartan?

I stopped taking losartan 8 days ago. My BP has stayed pretty much the same. One day little higher but we had a death in the family. Had vertigo this morning. Did that have anything to do with stopping losartan? And is it ok not to start it back unless my BP increases? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
You have not mentioned the blood pressure values and dosage of losartan.
The drug you are taking for blood pressure is standard one used by many.
The blood pressure gets lower slowly and takes three weeks to show significant change in values.
If the values remain same increasing the dose or adding another drug will help.
It is not advisable to start the drug as this may cause 'rebound hypertension' and very high blood pressure.
the vertigo present now may be due to emotional cause, so need not worry about that and do take the drugs regularly.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
