What Causes Vaginal Spotting While On Depo Provera Shots?
Hi, I ve been on the depo provera shot for over a year now and within that time I ve almost constantly had a light period. Sometimes it s heavier and rarely will there be no blood at all. After bleeding for a year straight, I want to know if there are any options to help stop the bleeding? My doctor said to wait it out and discuss other options if I really got fed up. I had my period for prolonged amounts of time before the shot so I was kind of used to it. He previously prescribed a estrogen pill to help the bleeding stop but it didn t seem to do much and once I was out it was back to the same. I ve heard Tranexamic acid may help? I don t want to use the pill and am semi-open to an IUD, the pain of insertion is the only thing holding me back.

depoprpvera does lead to lighter bleeding or sometime heavy bleeding .you need not take any additional medicine as tranxemic acid ..IUD is also a good alternative but the lady should not be diabetic high bp or cardiac patient . IUD insertion is not so much painful .if u are troubled by bleeding IUD is better option .
