Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been one eliquist for about two weeks for rapid heartbeat. I was taking two 5 milgs two times a day. I started bleeding vaginaly pretty heavy. This is the third day. Called the dr and they told me not to take any more of the Eliquist. Could there be another reason for this problem? I m 65 years old.
Hi, I think it is a side effect of eliquist. But if you want to rule out any other cause, get a pelvic examination done by a gynecologist to see for any atrophic vaginitis. Also go for a ultrasound to see the endometrial thickness. If it is more than 4 mm, you may require an endometrial biopsy to rule out any other cause. You can take some medicines like Tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding.
