What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Falling On Stomach During Pregnancy?

I'm 38, 19 weeks pregnant, fall on belly last night, there's quite some blood( total around 1 pad) immediately. Then we go to emergency care, and did some blood work, and doctor said that is not too much bleeding. Bleeding stopped since last night. Today, ultrasound is done. Baby is still moving and heartbeat is ok. And doctor released me and said everything is ok. I still have some pain on belly sometimes. I still worry. Is there any bleeding in my uterus? Where are bleeding come from? Is there any damage somewhere and how it will affect baby? Is my baby hurts? And will my baby survive? Could someone answer me. Thanks a lot!

hi,
I understand your concern.
Baby in the uterus is well protected by mother's abdominal wall, thick muscular layered uterus & surrounded by amniotic fluid, which acts as a shock absorber.
A strong fall/hit still can reach & affect baby in uterus. You were were fortunate to have a moderate thrust to baby, which escaped from severe injury.
* It's good that you have taken proper care & follow up. The reports say nothing to be worried of. Mild abdominal pain you have might be from local injury to abdominal wall/ uterine thrust.
You have to take rest for few days, avoid physical/psychological stress.
Take Ibuprofen -paracetamol for pain in abdomen. You can add Duvadelan ( uterine muscle relaxant) if the uterus is getting hardened with pain.
In case pain increases/ there is leaking of fluid- (which seems to be least possible) You have to rush to doctor.
* the bleeding in such cases is due to small placental separation. The thing is in control at present, We just have to take care & prevent recurrence.
* your baby will survive it, don't worry.
Thanks.
